Our country is facing a lot of problems in the health sector. Because it does not have the required amount of health equipment. However, the available one also does not function well. Maintenance and repairing should be conducted frequently.
Therefore, this course is designed to produce knowledge and skill by keeping eye on Biomedical Equipment Engineering and providing related jobs to them. On the other hand, it can solve major issues arising in the health sector.
Furthermore, this course also provides an elective subject for the student to choose from according to their interest. Projects and different practical classes are also conducted to develop and enhance student skills.
Likewise, This degree helps to develop middle-level Technical workforces in the field of biomedical equipment engineering.
Most importantly, Students who have 80% attendance in theory subjects and 90% attendance in their practical subjects are only eligible to give their final exams.
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering in Nepal is provided by CTEVT and conducted by National Health Training Center (NHTC), Teku.
Course Diploma in Biomedical Engineering in Nepal
Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering (DBEE).
Duration
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering in Nepal completes in 3 semesters which takes up to 18 months.
Every semester is divided into 6 months.
Likewise, there are 20 academic weeks that also cover assessment during this time in each semester.
It conducts at least 16 hours of teaching weeks in every individual semester.
Criteria for students to apply
Firstly, one should have to be completed a +2 level or equivalent level referring to the science sector. Secondly, must have cleared the entrance exam conducted by CTEVT.

Learning Methodology of Diploma in Biomedical Engineering in Nepal
This process is conducted by different types of programs. For instance, lecture classes, practical classes, teamwork, report writing, case study and analysis, tutorial writing, field visit, project work, presentation, role play, and many more.
In addition, different motivational and skill enhancements are conducted. Above all, these types of activities help in the development of skill and knowledge.
Evaluation of student in Diploma in Biomedical Engineering in Nepal
The examination is different levels are conducted to evaluate the performance of the student. Every Semester exam percentage is aggregated together to give the final percentage and grade.
But, students are also examined and evaluated by the teacher according to their physical and mental presence in the class.
- 20% is assigned for the internal exam and 80% for each semester exam to every theoretical subject.
- All theory exams are conducted through written tests.
- For practical subjects, practical exams are taken
- Internal exam and evaluation are done.
- That student who fails in the internal exam cannot give their semester final exam
- However, Attendance in both theory and practical classes should meet the criteria provided by the CTEVT

Offering of Back Paper
Students who could not clear their exam and cannot get a minimum pass percentage can give back paper nonetheless, they must clear all subjects in 3years from the date of admission.
